a look at the FOUNDER

Our HISTORY
In my first year of graduate school--- over 45 years after my father left the bush—a link to a History Channel video arrived in my email box from my dad, telling the story of the Vietnam-era U.S. Army Ranger: men with camouflaged faces, who patrolled and fought as members of these special designated teams.
I took the arrival of the video link as an invitation to ask my dad about his experiences and about these platoons. I learned that my dad, a now unassuming financial advisor, married to my mom for 38 years( now 48), and the father of six children, was one of those rangers.

Not once during my childhood did he speak about the war. What was it about that video that provoked such an intense curiosity to remember 45 years later? His desire for preserving the legacy of his platoon turned into one of my proudest works: an oral history of the select men who he fought with and lived with in Vietnam.
What I discovered in those interviews was that memory is its own dialect and delves into intimate details of people's lives, offering a unique glimpse into their experience—That your loved ones are not just another member on a genealogical tree, but they’re unique to their own, they are their own beginning, their own individual story. Their own whole. They are a defined member of your family. Their stories are a vital part of its identity.

Oral history is a living tradition that passes down stories and helps preserve customs, traditions, values, that define a heritage. It creates a bridge between generations, fostering a sense of connection and continuity.
